Quinnipiac University is currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Associate Director for Advancement and Campaign Events to join their team on a full-time basis at the Mount Carmel campus in Hamden, CT. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a creative and highly organized event professional who is passionate about enhancing donor engagement through exceptional event experiences. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Development and Campaign Management, the Associate Director will be instrumental in advancing the university’s comprehensive campaign and philanthropic priorities. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing a wide array of high-impact events that foster donor relationships and support Quinnipiac’s fundraising and engagement goals.

The Associate Director will manage all aspects of event production, encompassing concept development, budgeting, logistics, execution, and post-event analysis. Events under their oversight will range from donor recognition celebrations and campaign launches to galas, golf tournaments, and other signature university programs. They will collaborate closely with university leadership, including deans, faculty, volunteers, and advancement colleagues, to create tailored and high-touch event experiences facilitating principal and major gift cultivation and stewardship. The role requires a blend of excellent project management capabilities, strategic thinking, and a passion for hospitality and relationship-building.

Moreover, the Associate Director will be responsible for preparing detailed briefing materials, donor bios, and strategic talking points for key leaders such as the University President, Vice President of Advancement, Deans, and Board of Trustees members participating in development events. Utilizing data-driven approaches and institutional CRM systems, the individual will track guest engagement, analyze attendance trends, monitor event budgets, and measure the return on investment in support of campaign milestones.

This position also demands seamless coordination with various campus partners, including University Communications, catering services, facilities, student ambassadors, and academic departments, to ensure cohesive branding and flawless event execution. The Associate Director must have a deep understanding of higher education advancement, campaign structures, and fundraising methodologies to thrive in this role. Flexibility to travel and work during evenings and weekends is essential to support major university events and donor activities.

Job Requirements

  • Flexibility to travel and work frequent evenings and weekends to staff major institutional milestones homecoming or regional donor tours
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds

Job Duties

  • Lead the end-to-end planning of high-profile advancement events including capital campaign launches building dedications scholarship luncheons presidential dinners and regional donor events
  • Partner with frontline fundraisers to design customized high-touch event experiences that advance specific principal and major gift prospects through the cultivation solicitation and stewardship cycles
  • Draft detailed briefing materials strategic talking points timelines and donor bios for the University President Vice President of Advancement Deans and Board of Trustees members attending development events
  • Leverage the institutional CRM to track guest touchpoints analyze attendance trends monitor event budgets and measure the direct ROI of events against campaign fundraising milestones
  • Coordinate seamlessly with internal campus partners including University Communications catering services facilities student ambassadors and academic departments to ensure cohesive branding and execution
