This job opportunity is within Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech division, specifically in the cardiovascular sector, focusing on the Wichita, Kansas area. The role offered is that of an Associate Clinical Consultant or Clinical Consultant, a key position supporting clients and patients by providing expert guidance on the Impella® product portfolio. The MedTech Sales position emphasizes technical expertise, clinical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate directly with healthcare professionals such as interventional cardiologists and surgeons. This role focuses on advancing the use and understanding of innovative cardiovascular treatments to improve patient care and outcomes. As part of the cardiovascular team, the successful candidate will be involved in implementing solutions for heart recovery, electrophysiology, and stroke, contributing to elevated standards of care for patients suffering from serious cardiovascular conditions like stroke, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation.

The Associate or Area Clinical Consultant will be responsible for demonstrating product value, advising on patient selection, facilitating training programs, and attending medical procedures involving the Impella devices. Candidates will be expected to possess a strong clinical background, preferably as a registered nurse or similar healthcare professional with experience in ICU, CVICU, Cath Lab, or cardiovascular operating rooms. The role requires a blend of clinical expertise and sales acumen to effectively communicate the benefits and applications of the technology to medical teams, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. The position also demands strong interpersonal skills, teamwork abilities, and a readiness to support emergent patient care situations, including on-call availability.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of direct RN/NP/PA or Reg Tech patient support in an ICU CVICU Cath Lab or cardiovascular OR experience
  • 2+ years of commercial sales experience related to products and technologies utilized in the cardiovascular space
  • Ability to advance sales process with customers required
  • Ability to work in a team environment required
  • Availability to take call for emergent patient care
  • Experience delivering demonstrations and successful trainings
  • Ability to travel 50% within territory
  • Conduct duties and responsibilities in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations governing the medical device industry

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Improve patient outcomes through education and medical staff interaction including clinical demos and ongoing training for new and existing accounts
  • Collect clinically relevant data complete outcome reviews with customers and communicate activities with other team members and sales counterparts
  • Acquire and demonstrate a working knowledge of products and therapies and develop an extensive understanding of all their applications
  • Attend implants and consult physicians and medical staff on appropriate use and applications
  • Utilize integrity selling to change the standard of care and drive usage of Impella with physicians
  • Set up 1:1 physician meetings and host physician and staff dinner programs with strong attendance and content
  • Collaborate with sales counterpart on awareness programs and activities in franchise
