The Associate Clinical Consultant role based in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a pivotal position within Johnson & Johnson’s Cardiovascular MedTech team. This professional will primarily focus on supporting clients and patients by leveraging the company’s Impella portfolio—a set of leading-edge products designed for heart recovery, electrophysiology, and stroke management. The role demands a unique blend of clinical expertise and sales acumen, as the candidate will work closely with interventional cardiologists and surgeons to advise on patient selection, conduct training sessions, and assist during implantations. As part of the commercial team, this consultant will develop a comprehensive understanding of Johnson & Johnson’s cardiovascular therapies to improve patient outcomes and expand the adoption of advanced medical technologies. The position requires a commitment to ongoing education and collaboration with hospital staff to demonstrate product value, ensure effective use, and support clinical success. Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of direct RN/NP/PA or Reg Tech patient support in an ICU CVICU Cath Lab or Cardiovascular OR experience
  • 2+ years of commercial sales experience related to products and technologies utilized in the cardiovascular space (clinical consultant requirement)
  • ability to advance sales process with customers required
  • ability to work in a team environment required
  • availability to take call for emergent patient care
  • experience delivering demonstrations and successful trainings
  • ability to travel 50% within territory
  • conduct duties and responsibilities in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations governing the medical device industry

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of commercial sales experience related to products and technologies utilized in the cardiovascular space
  • experience delivering demonstrations and successful trainings
  • ability to advance sales process with customers
  • ability to work in a team environment
  • ability to travel 50% within territory
  • conduct duties and responsibilities in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations governing the medical device industry
  • hands on Impella support experience strongly preferred
  • ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • experience as an Abiomed per diem preferred
  • RN license strongly preferred
  • ECMO experience
  • strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to advocate with physicians
  • experience delivering clinical training

Job Duties

  • improve patient outcomes through education and medical staff interaction including clinical demos and ongoing training for new and existing accounts
  • collect clinically relevant data complete outcome reviews with customers and communicate activities with other team members and sales counterparts
  • acquire and demonstrate a working knowledge of our products/therapies and develop an extensive understanding of all their applications
  • attend implants and consult physicians and medical staff on appropriate use and applications
  • utilize integrity selling to change the standard of care and drive usage of Impella with physicians
  • ability to set up 1:1 physician meetings/conversations host physician and staff dinner programs with strong attendance and content
  • collaborate with sales counterpart on awareness programs and activities in franchise
