Job Description
Auction.com is the nation’s leading online real estate marketplace that specializes in the auctioning of properties, providing a unique and efficient platform for buyers and sellers to connect and complete transactions. With a strong commitment to transparency and customer service, Auction.com has revolutionized the real estate buying and selling process by making it accessible to a wide audience through live auctions, traditionally held in person on courthouse steps as well as through its innovative online platform.
Operating primarily around El Paso, Texas, Auction.com is seeking an Associate Auction Coordinator to represent the company at live auctions and local community events. This role is pivotal to the success of each auction, as the coordinator acts as the public face of Auction.com during live events, working directly with bidders, local officials, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of auction procedures. The Associate Auction Coordinator will be responsible for conducting, co-hosting, and actively participating in live auctions. This requires exceptional multitasking skills and the ability to manage several concurrent responsibilities such as interacting with customers, collecting information, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all regulatory and operational requirements are fulfilled.
The employment type for this position involves a flexible, part-time schedule with fluctuating hours based on the auction calendar and community needs. The typical workload ranges between 6 to 12 hours monthly, with individual auction days lasting from 2 to 8 hours. The schedule accommodates necessary training, administrative activities, and skill development opportunities. The role’s compensation starts at $17.50 per hour during training and progressively increases to a range between $20.00 and $30.00 per hour as the candidate gains experience, proficiency, and takes on additional responsibilities.
Territorial coverage centers on El Paso, with expected travel of up to two hours to auction sites in surrounding areas, with mileage reimbursement beyond 40 miles per day. Occasionally, travel beyond two hours may be required and, in such cases, a rental vehicle may be provided. This aspect of the role offers variety and flexibility, catering to individuals who enjoy dynamic, hands-on work environments and who thrive in roles requiring both independent initiative and teamwork.
This position is especially suited for individuals passionate about customer service and community engagement, as coordinators also provide education to bidders on auction participation and promote Auction.com’s mission of turning houses into homes. Flexibility, strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and a professional demeanor are key for success. The job involves standing for long periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions, making it essential for candidates to be physically capable and mentally prepared for a dynamic work setting.
In summary, the Associate Auction Coordinator at Auction.com offers a unique opportunity to be an integral part of a leading real estate auction company. It promises a rewarding career path with competitive salaries, ongoing professional development, and the chance to make a positive impact in local communities through real estate auctions.
