The Dishwasher at Nazareth House is not only responsible for general dishwashing duties but also assists in various support activities within the dietary department. This role requires an individual who can manage heavy lifting and operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. The Dishwasher helps ensure that the kitchen and dining areas operate efficiently by handling washing pots, pans, and dishes, organizing storage areas, and maintaining cleanliness across the kitchen. This position also includes responsibilities such as food preparation assistance, making salads and sandwiches, and serving desserts, which requires adaptability and teamwork. Additionally, the dishwasher may be required to drive the facility’s van when needed, showcasing the dynamic nature of this role. Candidates must be capable of working weekends and various shifts, including early morning and evening schedules. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of dishwashing experience
Ability to work weekends and varied shifts
Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and prolonged standing
Ability to drive facility van when required
Willingness to take on additional duties as assigned
Must maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards

Job Duties

Washing all dishes in an industrial dishwasher
Collecting the dishes from the dining rooms
Clean, disinfect, and prewash all dishes, pots and pans, etc
Maintain an organized and clean work area
Return clean dishes to designated areas
Organizing and cleaning merchandise in fridge, freezer, and storage rooms
Mopping floors and assisting with kitchen clean up
Help dietary staff with food prep
Preparing salads, sandwiches, and serve dessert
Preparing and loading food trays and salad bar
Being a host in the dining room by greeting residents while serving drinks and meals to tables
Collecting, cleaning, refilling, and distributing coffee and hot water pots to common areas
Assisting cooks and other dietary staff as needed
