Job Description

This job opportunity is with a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee of McDonald's, distinct from McDonald's USA. The franchisee holds a license to use McDonald's branding and food products but operates as a separate business entity responsible for all employment matters including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald's USA plays no role in employment decisions or the management of this franchisee-operated restaurant. Consequently, if hired, you will be employed by the franchisee, not McDonald's USA.

The role offers a satisfying career with competitive pay, excellent benefits, and comprehensive opportunities for professional growth and development. As a Department Manager, you will be expected to lead shifts weekly, ensuring customers experience fast, accurate, and friendly service during every visit. The role includes various departmental responsibilities, such as overseeing training, food safety, inventory management, guest service, kitchen operations, and people management. Depending on assignment, Department Managers may lead the Guest Service, Kitchen, or People Departments, each with specific responsibilities geared towards maintaining the restaurant's high standards and smooth operations.

The Guest Service Department Manager ensures all crew and managers provide excellent customer service, manages promotional activities, and maintains organization in high-traffic areas such as the front counter, McCafé, and drive-thru. The Kitchen Department Manager focuses on food quality, safety, cost control, and production training, including introducing new menu items. The People Department Manager is charged with hiring qualified staff, providing good training and scheduling, recognizing and motivating employees, and supporting the achievement of sales and profit goals.

Prior managerial experience is preferred, ideally within restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments. The ideal candidate should be a positive team player with a passion for working in a fast-paced setting and a flexible schedule. The minimum age requirement to hold a managerial position in corporate-owned McDonald's restaurants is 18 years or older.

The company strongly supports its employees’ personal and professional growth by offering valuable job training, college tuition assistance through programs such as Archways to Opportunity, and a host of benefits including paid vacation after one year, medical, dental and vision coverage, life and accident insurance, short- and long-term disability benefits, and adoption assistance. Employees also gain access to service awards and employee resource connections that foster a supportive and engaging workplace culture.

Joining this franchisee-operated McDonald's restaurant presents an opportunity to build a rewarding career supported by a team-oriented environment and a commitment to helping you and the organization succeed.
