Job Description

KFC is one of the world’s most recognizable fast-food restaurant brands, known globally for its iconic fried chicken and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Founded over 80 years ago, KFC has grown from a small roadside chicken stand to a thriving international franchise with thousands of locations worldwide. Known for its unique blend of herbs and spices, KFC offers a unique dining experience that blends delicious, convenient food, with a focus on community and hospitality. The brand prides itself on innovation, excellent customer service, and creating memorable experiences for its guests, which has helped maintain its leadership in the fast-food industry. At the core of KFC’s success is a dedicated team of professionals committed to upholding the brand’s values and quality standards.

The role of an Assistant Manager at KFC is pivotal to the daily success of each restaurant, acting as a key support to the Restaurant General Manager (RGM). This role is designed for a motivated individual who is passionate about leadership, team building, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment. The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting and reinforcing brand standards, training and mentoring team members, and fostering an inclusive and engaging workplace culture. This position requires a hands-on leader who can step in to lead day-to-day operations when the General Manager is unavailable, making critical decisions to keep the restaurant running smoothly.

Assistant Managers at KFC will champion the brand’s culture by promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging among their teams. They help source, recruit, interview, and hire new talent, ensuring a team that thrives on collaboration and mutual respect. They are directly involved in maintaining food safety and health standards, overseeing shift responsibilities, and ensuring that each customer receives consistently outstanding service. Additionally, they assist in managing the restaurant’s finances, including profit and loss management, cash control, inventory, security procedures, and labor management.

This role offers a competitive pay structure, including 40 hours at regular pay and 10 hours at time and a half for overtime, reflecting the 50-hour workweek. The Assistant Manager position also comes with numerous benefits, such as paid time off, medical benefits, 401k retirement with matching contributions, bonus eligibility, and opportunities for career advancement and professional development. The company supports its team members with education programs like tuition reimbursement, scholarships, and the KFC Foundation Programs, which include free college tuition at Western Governors University, a savings match program, hardship assistance, and more. Working at KFC is about more than just the job; it is about being part of a fun, fast-paced team committed to personal and professional growth while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
