The Assistant Manager role at KFC is a pivotal position designed for individuals who are passionate about leadership, operational excellence, and delivering memorable customer experiences. In this role, you will work directly under the Restaurant General Manager to uphold KFC's brand standards, ensuring every guest receives superior service and quality food. The Assistant Manager leads by example, actively engaging in training, coaching, and recognizing team members to build a motivated and high-performing staff. You will take charge of daily restaurant operations when the General Manager is absent, making important decisions and driving the team toward operational success.

Operating within a fast-paced and rewarding environment, you will work a 50-hour week comprising 40 hours at regular pay and an additional 10 hours at time and a half, offering both challenge and work-life balance. Job Requirements

  • Two or more years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Assist with profit and loss management by following cash control and security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor and reviewing financial reports
  • Ensure all employees receive proper training and resources
  • Champion KFC's culture and values by promoting equity, inclusion and belonging in the restaurant
  • Lead efforts in individual and team recognition, collaboration and motivation
  • Identify and recruit exceptional talent supporting the Restaurant General Manager in hiring
  • Possess strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals, taking disciplinary action and motivating and training employees
  • Adhere to corporate policies, procedures and Occupational Health and Food Safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Two or more years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and employee motivation
  • Experience in assisting with profit and loss management including cash control and inventory oversight
  • Ability to lead recruitment efforts and promote a culture of equity and inclusion
  • Knowledge of corporate policies, procedures, and Occupational Health and Food Safety standards
  • Proven ability to provide constructive feedback and foster team collaboration and motivation

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the KFC Connect Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
  • Oversee team members' adherence to shift responsibilities and maintain high food safety standards
  • Take charge of restaurant operations in the Restaurant General Manager's absence
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant General Manager in assessing team performance and providing ongoing constructive and positive feedback
  • Address employee relations issues, determine immediate resolutions or escalate to the Restaurant General Manager as necessary
  • Assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing and hiring team members while promoting equity, inclusion and belonging
  • Assist with profit and loss management including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance and labor management
  • Review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
  • Support the Restaurant General Manager in facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed
