Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • one year experience in specialty retail preferred
  • six months supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules and procedures
  • ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • knowledge of cash handling and deposit procedures
  • ability to operate cash register and related tools
  • strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • effective interpersonal communication
  • strong product inventory and merchandising knowledge
  • physical ability to frequently walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, lift up to 55 pounds, climb ladders occasionally
  • ability to drive for bank deposits
  • able to work in fast-paced and moderate noise environment
  • occasionally exposed to various scents, weather conditions, wet floors, and cleaning solutions

Job Duties

  • Provide superior customer service to exceed customer expectations
  • assist customers, operate cash register and scanner
  • assist Store Team Leader in creating and supporting a customer-first store culture
  • model product knowledge and selling techniques
  • maintain a safe, clean and well-organized store environment
  • merchandise the store appealingly to retain customer excitement
  • rotate product using company merchandising guidelines
  • assist in educating store team about products
  • maintain daily and weekly cleaning checklists
  • ensure condense and reset standards are maintained
  • open and close the store at least two days per week
  • assist in scheduling employees and providing training
  • conduct safety meetings
  • ensure employee compliance with policies
  • manage merchandise receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and displays
  • maintain accurate inventory levels controlling damages and markdowns
  • implement and maintain plan-o-zones
  • ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures
  • authorize refunds and overrides
  • count register tills and make bank deposits
  • assist customers in self-checkout
  • manage store in Store Team Leader's absence
