Job Description

Zen Educate is a dynamic education technology company dedicated to connecting schools with passionate and highly qualified educators through an innovative and transparent hiring process. Collaborating with both public and charter schools, Zen Educate focuses on helping educational institutions find the right staff members who align with their needs and culture. The company is committed to improving educational outcomes by streamlining the recruitment process, offering fair compensation, and providing ongoing support to educators throughout their careers. With a mission centered on enhancing the learning experience for students by empowering educators, Zen Educate stands out as a leader in education staffing solutions, fostering meaningful partnerships that benefit schools, educators, and students alike.

Zen Educate is currently hiring Para Educators for the 2026-2027 academic year, with positions beginning in August 2026. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with special needs and making a tangible impact in their educational journey. Para Educators, also known as paraprofessionals or classroom aides, play a vital role in assisting licensed teachers by implementing academic adaptations and individualized education plans (IEPs). The position involves working closely with students in small groups or individually to support their academic, social, and behavioral development, creating a safe and conducive learning environment.

Candidates will have the opportunity to join the team early during the summer break, allowing them to complete onboarding, demonstrate their skills, and secure their positions ahead of the busy fall season. This proactive approach enables Para Educators to be thoroughly prepared to create strong bonds with students and staff as soon as the school year begins. The role includes responsibilities such as providing support during crisis situations, utilizing various teaching methods to enhance engagement, and maintaining overall classroom safety.

This is a part-time to full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, during school hours roughly between 7:30 AM and 3:00 or 4:30 PM, with no weekend work required. Compensation ranges from $20 to $23 per hour, depending on the level of special education support and prior experience. Pay is disbursed weekly, reflecting the company’s commitment to providing timely and fair remuneration. Benefits include paid sick leave, a 401K plan subject to eligibility, and flexible placement opportunities aligned with individual preferences and qualifications.

Zen Educate values candidates who have either 60 college credits or higher or have passed relevant Paraeducator or Paraprofessional assessments. Experience working with children in structured settings is preferred, especially experience supporting individuals with special needs or disabilities. Physical demands include the ability to be active in the classroom environment, assist students physically, and respond quickly to various situations. Additional professional development and certification opportunities, such as ParaPro certification, are offered to enhance career advancement. Joining Zen Educate as a Para Educator is not only a chance to contribute to student success but also an opportunity for personal and professional growth within a supportive and forward-thinking organization.
