The Assistant Store Manager will coach the sales team to deliver expert service backed by comprehensive product knowledge, ensuring that athletes find the right gear to help them excel in their chosen sports. Key responsibilities include driving performance by executing key selling strategies, fostering a high-performing and inclusive team environment, and managing the operational aspects of the department.\n\nThe Assistant Store Manager works closely with the Store Manager to develop and execute business growth plans and ensure strong operational strategies that support long-term success. This role includes managing a team of supervisors (Captains) and indirectly influencing broader store teams through coaching and development efforts. Responsibilities also include managing performance, hiring, staff scheduling, and payroll alignment with budget goals. Moreover, this leadership position is accountable for maintaining the company’s merchandise presentation standards, promoting customer loyalty programs, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational policies. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience
- 1-3 years of retail management or customer-focused experience
- Ability to manage and develop a team
- Strong leadership and communication skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and execute full-year business growth plans including forecasting and planning 90+ days out
- Manage a team of Captains (Supervisors) directly and broader store team indirectly through coaching, development, and influence
- Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards by ensuring compliant execution of floor sets, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment standards
- Promote, drive, and lead company programs such as customer loyalty participation, warranty sales, and private label credit card enrollment
- Lead training initiatives ensuring all teammates are equipped to deliver elevated athlete experiences through hands-on coaching and development plans
- Partner with Store Manager on workforce management including payroll and staffing to meet budget and adapt to traffic and sales trends
- Hire and build strong teams by leading targeted hiring strategies, interviewing, and making hiring and termination decisions
- Ensure compliance with operational guidelines, brand standards, customer service expectations, safety, loss prevention policies, and create an inclusive environment where all are respected
