The Retail Store Supervisor position at Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the sales floor at one of their retail stores. This full-time role offers a starting annual salary of $47,000 and the potential to earn a monthly performance bonus of up to $1,000 based on meeting performance goals. As a key member of the retail management team, the Retail Store Supervisor leads and supports store associates, ensuring a high standard of customer service and operational excellence. The role includes managing financial aspects such as payroll and operating costs, controlling inventory, supervising donation processing, and fostering the professional development of store team members through effective training programs.
The Retail Store Supervisor acts as both a leader and a Goodwill ambassador, promoting the organization’s mission within the community while maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting store environment that reflects the Goodwill brand. The position requires strong interpersonal skills to manage customer interactions, handle complex sales transactions including returns, and resolve conflicts through de-escalation techniques. Flexibility is essential, as the supervisor may be asked to travel between multiple GCNA locations and handle shifts including closing responsibilities. This role involves coordination with other departments such as Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, and Finance to ensure compliance and drive business goals.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- One-year work experience in retail management
- One-year customer service experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
- Ability to speak and read English proficiently

Job Duties
- Develops and executes retail operations plan to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for operating income, revenue, and production
- Monitors product levels (floor work, as-is, recycle, trash, seasonal back stock) daily to achieve bottom line sales budget against targets
- Ensures payroll costs and operating costs are managed to budget
- Ensures Team Members deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers
- Works to de-escalate customer situations while finding an appropriate solution
- Ensures store locations are clean, well-kept, and reflect the Goodwill brand appropriately
- Partners with community businesses and organizations to promote Goodwill mission
