Job Description
Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) is a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals, strengthening families, and building stronger communities. Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, GCNA operates numerous retail stores whose revenues support its mission of ending unemployment by providing no-cost career development, training, and educational services. The organization’s vision is to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone can thrive while upholding its core values of Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation.
This particular opportunity is for a Sales Floor Lead at one of GCNA's retail store locations. The position offers an annual starting salary of $47,000 and is eligible for a monthly performance bonus of up to $1,000 based on achieving performance goals. This role is integral in driving the daily operations of the sales floor and assisting with production room management, which directly supports GCNA’s mission by optimizing store performance and customer experience.
As a Sales Floor Lead, you will be responsible for leading and developing the store team to deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring inventory control, managing financial goals, and maintaining a clean and branded store environment. Your leadership will impact operating income, revenue, and production targets on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. You will partner with team members, other departments, and community organizations, serving as an ambassador of Goodwill’s mission to promote and build community relationships.
In this role, you will oversee payroll and operating costs to ensure they remain within budget, handle complex sales transactions including returns, and act as a key holder and closing shift manager when needed. You will work collaboratively with support functions like Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, and Finance to maintain compliance with policies and regulations. Building a high-performing team will be a priority, for which you will conduct performance management activities such as coaching, discipline, staffing, compensation, and training. Your efforts will also include driving culture change initiatives and modeling GCNA’s core values.
Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package that begins the first of the month following 60 days of employment, including multiple medical, dental, and vision plans, employer-funded health reimbursement account (HRA), 401K, life insurance, employee assistance program, paid time off, and paid holidays. Joining GCNA means becoming a valued member of a community-focused organization committed to making a meaningful impact on individuals’ lives and the local community. The organization encourages professional growth and offers opportunities for job advancement across its network of stores.
GCNA is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion. They strongly support accommodating individuals with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act and provide contact options for applicants who may require assistance during the application process. The organization also warns candidates about phishing scams and emphasizes secure communication protocols to protect applicants' personal and financial information.
