The role of Retail Store Sales Floor Leader at Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona is a pivotal position responsible for leading daily sales floor operations at one of their retail store locations. This full-time role offers an annual starting salary of $47,000, with eligibility for a monthly performance bonus of up to $1,000 based on meeting performance goals. The Sales Floor Leader plays a critical leadership role in managing various aspects of the store’s operations including people leadership, financial oversight, inventory management, customer service, donation processing, and team training and development. Reporting to the Store Manager, the successful candidate will lead a high-performing team to achieve revenue goals, maintain operational excellence, and ensure the store continuously reflects the Goodwill brand and mission to the local community.
Key responsibilities include overseeing and executing the retail operations plan to hit income and sales targets daily, monthly, quarterly, and annually; monitoring product levels such as sales floor stock, seasonal inventory, recycling and waste; managing payroll and operating costs to stay within budget; and driving exceptional customer service to all donors and customers. The Sales Floor Leader acts as an ambassador for Goodwill in the community, partnering with local businesses and organizations to promote the mission. They handle critical transactions including complex sales and returns, and ensure adherence to company policies and standards by all team members. This position also involves cross-location travel to support other stores and participate in training sessions as needed. As a key holder and closing shift manager, the Sales Floor Leader provides backup to the Store Manager and plays a significant role in staffing, performance management, coaching, and cultivating organizational culture aligned with Goodwill’s values.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- One-year work experience in retail management
- One-year customer service experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen where applicable
- Ability to speak and read English proficiently

Job Duties
- Develops and executes retail operations plan to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for operating income, revenue, and production
- Monitors product levels including floor work, as-is, recycle, trash, seasonal back stock daily to achieve bottom line sales budget against targets
- Ensures payroll costs and operating costs are managed to budget
- Ensures Team Members deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers
- Works to de-escalate customer situations while finding an appropriate solution
- Ensures store locations are clean, well-kept, and reflect the Goodwill brand appropriately
- Partners with community businesses and organizations to promote Goodwill mission
- Serves as a Goodwill ambassador to the community
- Leads the day-to-day operations of the sales floor
- Ensures that Retail Store Associates and Customer Service Manager are well-trained and fulfill their duties and responsibilities
- Acts as a key holder for the store, closing shift manager, and backup to the Store Manager
- Processes complex sales transactions, including customer returns
- Ensures that Team Members are operating per company standards and procedures
- Travels to other GCNA locations to assist other stores and attend training and development classes
- Transfers to different stores as needed due to business requirements
- Partners with support areas such as Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, and Finance to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
- Builds a high-performing team
- Responsible for performance management including coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and annual reviews, staffing, compensation, and development of Team Members
- Plays critical role in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes
