Job Description
BJ's Wholesale Club is a leading membership warehouse club that operates across the United States, serving more than 30,000 team members who contribute daily to helping families save on the products they need most. The company is renowned for its vast selection of quality products, competitive pricing, and commitment to providing excellent service and value to its members. BJ's Wholesale Club emphasizes a culture of purpose and opportunity where employees are encouraged to grow and thrive in a supportive environment.
As an Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) at BJ's Wholesale Club, you will play a crucial role in driving the performance and leadership within the club. This position is designed to prepare you for one of three specialized Assistant Club Manager roles focused on Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience. Working directly with the Club Manager, you will gain valuable development and hands-on experience aligned with your designated track to oversee the respective departments effectively. This role requires a strong commitment to leadership, talent development, and operational excellence.
The AMIT is responsible for ensuring the consistent implementation of company policies, delivering an outstanding member service experience, and maintaining the highest club standards through Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) initiatives. You will lead compliance efforts, foster collaboration with business partners, and oversee onboarding, certification, and training processes aimed at food safety and operational success. Acting as Manager on Duty (MOD) when needed, you will manage club operations, lead team members, and engage members actively during your shift.
This role mandates maintaining a valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification and possibly recurring certifications such as forklift operation and retail propane oversight (specific to Florida). BJ's Wholesale Club supports these certification requirements with training and coverage of associated costs. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong business acumen, leadership skills, and a passion for retail management who are ready to take on challenges while impacting both the team and member experience positively.
Joining BJ's Wholesale Club means becoming part of a world-class team focused on mutual success and growth. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes weekly pay, free memberships, generous paid time off, flexible health benefits, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, employee stock purchase plans, and more. This employment opportunity is full-time with a competitive starting salary of approximately $61,500 per year, depending on location and experience. BJ's Wholesale Club values authenticity and encourages applicants to present their genuine skills and experiences, reflecting the company’s authentic culture and commitment to transparency.
