The role of Assistant Store Manager at Total Wine & More is a key leadership position designed to develop the store’s sales and service culture while supporting operational excellence. This full-time position involves working closely with the Store Manager to drive sales and meet key performance metrics (KPMs). The Assistant Store Manager plays a critical role in recruiting, training, and leading the store team, focusing on ongoing development to boost product knowledge and sales skills. Daily responsibilities include supporting payroll management, inventory control, merchandising, and minimizing shrinkage. The Assistant Store Manager is also responsible for delivering outstanding customer service by leading by example and ensuring a welcoming and knowledgeable store atmosphere. This position requires compliance with all laws governing the sale of alcohol and fostering a safe and compliant store environment. Candidates must be prepared to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and meet physical requirements such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and climbing ladders. Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of work experience
- 2+ years of proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role in retail
- ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
- physical ability to walk, bend, stand for 8-10 hours, climb ladders, and lift 50 lbs overhead repeatedly
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of work experience
- 2+ years of proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role in a retail setting
- experience leading, motivating, and developing a sales-focused team
- familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software

Job Duties
- Drive sales and deliver against key performance metrics
- assist in recruiting, training, and leading the store team

- help maintain vendor relationships to support store and inventory objectives
