We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at our New Lenox location. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $18.50 to $28 per hour and requires a dedication of 40 hours per week. The Assistant Store Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager by overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring all departments function smoothly, and maintaining a positive shopping experience for our customers.

In this role, you will be responsible for opening and closing the store, ensuring operational readiness at all times. Your knowledge must extend across all departments within the store, including the deli, bakery, produce, meat, grocery, and front end, to provide effective support and supervision. You will lead and manage a team ranging from 3 to 20 employees throughout the store simultaneously, delegating tasks and prioritizing daily functions to meet store objectives efficiently.

Customer service is a top priority, and you will be expected to handle customer comments and special requests professionally and promptly. Your responsibilities also include assisting in the hiring process, which involves interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees to ensure a capable and knowledgeable workforce. You will enforce all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and maintain compliance with OSHA safety and health code standards across every department.

Additionally, your role will include collaborating closely with the Store Manager in counseling employees, recommending changes, and making decisions related to merchandising, pricing, scheduling, expense control, and store shrink. You must have a sound understanding of machinery and equipment safety to uphold a secure work environment. Your leadership and decision-making skills will directly impact the store’s efficiency, sales promotion, and overall customer satisfaction.

Job Duties

  • Assistant store manager in the day to day functions of running the store responsible for opening and closing of the store
