The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) role in Jacksonville, FL, located at 4549 Southside Blvd, provides a leadership pipeline position designed to prepare high-potential individuals to become future Bakery Operations Managers (BOM). The ABOM role is central to ensuring operational excellence while simultaneously fostering team development and administrative oversight. ABOMs execute bakery operations with urgency, accuracy, and accountability and act as an extension of the BOM. This role blends hands-on operational execution with leadership responsibilities, including talent development, scheduling, inventory management, and adherence to food safety and quality standards. ABOMs are expected to be capable of stepping into full bakery ownership when necessary, handling all aspects of store operations independently during transitions or absences. This essential position also involves coaching and mentoring hourly team members to build a growth mindset culture and maintain consistent performance standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to perform physical tasks required in a bakery environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capability to manage inventory and scheduling software
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- 1+ year leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations
- Strong operational discipline and attention to detail
- Ability to coach and develop hourly team members

Job Duties
- Execute all core bakery operations including inventory rotation, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and administrative checklists
- Maintain strict adherence to product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience standards
- Support ordering, inventory accuracy, and shrink control
- Assist in schedule creation and labor execution to meet operational targets
- Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new staff
- Deliver consistent coaching and real-time performance feedback
- Hold team members accountable to standards while reinforcing a growth mindset culture
- Manage bakery operations independently in the absence of the BOM
- Model urgency, accountability, and operational discipline
- Partner with BOM and Area leadership to identify operational gaps and implement solutions
