As a Retail Assistant Manager at 7-Eleven, you will play a pivotal role within the management team, supporting the Store Leader in driving operational excellence and delivering outstanding customer service. The Retail Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, coaching and training employees, maintaining high retention rates through effective leadership, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety protocols. This role requires competency in cash handling, fuel transactions, and promotion of the company’s loyalty program. Additionally, the assistant manager will assist in implementing merchandising and marketing programs to enhance store profitability and customer satisfaction. The position demands excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required with at least one year retail management experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in a retail environment
  • Ability to provide leadership and customer service training
  • Proficient in cash handling and fuel transaction processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and automotive liability insurance
  • Ability to multitask and perform physical activities including bending, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or retail management experience
  • Ability to lead and coach a team effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with cash handling and fuel transactions
  • Knowledge of merchandising and marketing program implementation

Job Duties

  • Oversee and provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching alongside the Store Leader for all store employees
  • Maintain high employee retention by identifying qualified applicants, developing leaders, empowering employees, and encouraging productivity
  • Assist in implementing all merchandising and marketing programs
  • Handle cash management, fuel transactions, and promote the loyalty program
  • Ensure store cleanliness and safety in compliance with health and sanitation procedures
  • Maintain an in-stock inventory and presentable store environment
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing and demonstrate proficient computer knowledge
