We are currently seeking a Retail Assistant Manager to join our team, an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working as part of a management team and have prior supervisory experience. The Assistant Store Leader Trainee role provides a comprehensive management and leadership experience in a full-time capacity, accompanied by competitive pay. As a Retail Assistant Manager, you will be integral to ensuring operational excellence and outstanding customer service standards are maintained in the store.

This role focuses on providing leadership, training, and coaching for all store employees alongside the Store Leader, ensuring high employee retention through effective recruitment, staff development, and motivation. You will assist in implementing merchandising and marketing programs, manage cash and fuel transactions, and promote our customer loyalty program. Maintaining a clean and safe store environment by following health and sanitation guidelines is essential, ensuring the store is presentable and well-stocked. Additionally, strong communication skills and computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel, are required to perform duties successfully. The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or GED and has at least one year of retail management experience, alongside a valid driver’s license and the ability to handle physical demands of the job such as multitasking and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to oversee customer service leadership, training, and coaching
  • Experience maintaining high employee retention through recruitment and development
  • Ability to assist in merchandising and marketing programs
  • Competency in cash handling and fuel transactions
  • Maintain a clean and safe store environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer knowledge with Microsoft products
  • High School diploma or GED preferred with retail management experience
  • Valid Driver's License with liability insurance
  • Ability to multitask and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Oversee and provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching alongside the Store Leader
  • Maintain high retention by identifying qualified applicants, developing leaders, empowering employees, and encouraging productivity
  • Assist in implementing merchandising and marketing programs
  • Manage cash handling, fuel transactions, and promote the loyalty program
  • Ensure store cleanliness and safety by complying with health and sanitation procedures
  • Maintain product stock and presentation
  • Communicate effectively with team members and use computer software for store operations
