This job opportunity is for the position of Assistant Store Leader (Assistant Manager) at the 7-Eleven location in East Hampton, Virginia. In this full-time role, you will be part of a dedicated management team focused on delivering exceptional customer service while handling store operations. This position emphasizes leadership, coaching, and training of store employees to maintain high standards of operation and customer satisfaction. The Assistant Store Leader supports the Store Leader in overseeing daily activities including merchandising and marketing program implementation, cash handling and fuel transaction accuracy, and promoting the 7-Eleven loyalty program. This role requires collaboration with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment that complies with all health and sanitation standards. It also demands strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a dynamic retail setting.

A valid driver’s license and automotive liability insurance are also required for this role.

  • Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required with one year retail management experience
  • Valid driver’s license and automotive liability insurance

Job Duties

  • Oversee and provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching for all store employees alongside the Store Leader
  • Maintain high employee retention by identifying qualified applicants, developing leaders, empowering employees, and encouraging productivity
  • Assist in implementing all merchandising and marketing programs
  • Manage cash handling, fuel transactions, and promote the store’s loyalty program
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment complying with health and sanitation procedures to ensure the store is presentable and products are in stock
  • Communicate effectively using excellent oral and written skills
  • Utilize proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel
