The Assistant Store Leader (Assistant Manager) role at 7-Eleven is a vital leadership position within the retail store management team. This full-time role is designed for individuals who enjoy working collaboratively within a team and have prior supervisory experience. The Assistant Store Leader supports the Store Leader by overseeing day-to-day store operations and ensuring the highest standards of customer service. The role entails responsibilities such as training, coaching, and mentoring store employees while maintaining operational excellence in key areas including merchandising, marketing, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

In this role, you will be entrusted with tasks such as managing cash handling processes, fuel transactions, and promoting the store's customer loyalty program. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, along with proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, are essential to successfully fulfill the duties of this position. The role also demands physical stamina for multitasking, bending, standing, reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee and provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching alongside the Store Leader for all store employees
  • Maintain high retention by identifying qualified applicants, developing leaders, empowering employees, and encouraging employee productivity
  • Assist in implementing all merchandising and marketing programs
  • Competency in cash handling, fuel transactions, and promoting the loyalty program
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment by complying with all health and sanitation procedures to keep the store presentable and fully stocked
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Utilize computer skills, especially with Microsoft Word and Excel, to support store operations
