The role of the Assistant Starbucks Lead is pivotal to the success of Buehler's Starbucks operations, where specialty coffee and beverage preparation meet exceptional customer experiences. This position involves supervising the Starbucks Barista team, ensuring they prepare and serve high-quality specialty drinks according to established production procedures. The Assistant Lead is also responsible for various operational aspects, including maximizing profitability through effective expense control, ordering, inventory management (shrink control), and efficient beverage production. This leadership role requires a hands-on approach, blending strong customer service skills with operational efficiency and team collaboration.

On any given day, the Assistant Starbucks Lead oversees the preparation and serving of a wide range of hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, and teas. The role includes organizing and setting up the beverage station to ensure smooth daily operations and following sanitation and hygiene standards to maintain a clean and safe working environment. The Assistant Lead also supervises food handling practices, temperature checks for equipment, and daily cleaning of all coffee machines and related tools to ensure they remain in excellent working condition.

In addition to managing daily operations, the Assistant Starbucks Lead plays a critical role in staffing responsibilities. This includes assisting with scheduling to ensure optimal team coverage, participating in recruiting efforts, onboarding new team members, and supporting training to maintain high performance standards. Communication with customers is also essential; the Assistant Lead informs customers about menu items and suggests products to enhance their experience.
