The role involves assisting in the planning and execution of meetings and special events, focusing on smooth operations and outstanding guest satisfaction. It supports the implementation of departmental strategies and helps drive the promotion and seamless execution of all property events. The role requires a strong leadership presence to inspire and guide the team in achieving and exceeding daily and weekly goals, which include sales targets, attendance expectations, guest satisfaction indices, and safety standards.

Core responsibilities include managing events operations and budgets, researching competition to optimize pricing and service offerings, and helping to ensure communication flows effectively throughout the property regarding group events that may impact operations. The position also involves conducting daily walk-throughs to uphold quality standards and client satisfaction, as well as learning and training staff on relevant software systems used in event management like ticketing, inventory, and space utilization.

A significant part of the role is focused on profitability, including developing vendor relationships, negotiating service agreements, and identifying upselling opportunities during event planning. Control of departmental expenses and inventory management also fall under this purview, contributing to the financial health of the department.

Exceptional customer service is paramount in this role. The associate is expected to cultivate an environment that consistently exceeds guest expectations, serving as a role model for positive guest relations and handling guest feedback and complaints with professionalism and care. Empowering employees to deliver excellent customer service and reinforcing expectations through regular communication and meetings is essential to continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged
  • 2 years experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hospitality, or related major
  • 1 year experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or comparable professional area
  • ability to assist in strategy implementation

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
