The role in focus is a key management position responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of meetings and special events at the Gaylord property in Aurora, Colorado. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in hospitality or related major
  • 1 year experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or comparable professional area
  • Ability to lead teams and meet performance goals
  • Proficiency with event management software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and vendor relationships
  • Commitment to guest satisfaction and safety
  • Experience in employee training and performance appraisal

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning and execution of meetings and special events
  • Assist in implementation of departmental strategies
  • Lead team to meet and exceed daily and weekly goals including sales, attendance, guest satisfaction, safety
  • Research and analyze new products, pricing and services of competition
  • Assist in apprising property of all groups impacting operations
  • Assist in event management strategy execution aligned with company business strategy
  • Conduct daily walkthrough of banquet floor to promote client satisfaction and quality standards
  • Learn, operate and train employees on software systems for events
  • Assist in developing relationships with vendors and establish prices and service agreements
  • Create opportunities to upsell during event planning
  • Assist in managing controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budget goals
  • Manage merchandise inventory and enhance displays to increase sales
  • Create atmosphere in event management areas meeting or exceeding guest expectations
  • Set positive example for guest relations
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service
  • Respond to and handle guest complaints
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Verify employees understand expectations and parameters
