This position is a full-time, seasonal management role based at the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Aurora, Colorado. It offers a competitive pay range of $28.35 to $30.27 per hour with bonus eligibility, emphasizing both performance and dedication. The role centers around assisting in planning and executing meetings and special events, ensuring flawless operations, and liaising between sales and operational teams to facilitate smooth transitions and success. The position also involves leading a team to consistently achieve and exceed daily and weekly goals related to sales, attendance, guest satisfaction, and safety. Candidates are expected to be proactive in analyzing competitive offerings and trends to keep their events fresh and attractive. The role requires managing profitability by developing relationships with vendors, creating upselling opportunities, controlling expenses, and optimizing merchandise sales. Exceptional customer service is paramount, with responsibilities including setting positive guest relations examples, addressing feedback and complaints promptly, and fostering an engaging environment for employees to excel in service.   • 2 years experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hospitality or related major

Job Duties

  • leads the team to meet and exceed daily and weekly goals including, but not limited to, sales, attendance, guest satisfaction, safety
  • researches and analyzes new products, pricing and services of competition
  • assists in apprising property of all groups that will impact property operations
  • assists in execution of event management strategy aligned with the company’s business strategy
  • conducts daily walk-through of banquet floor to promote client satisfaction and quality standards
  • learns, operates and trains employees on software systems used in events such as ticketing, retail, inventory, space usage
  • assists in developing working relationships with outside vendors and establishes prices and service agreements
  • creates opportunities to upsell during event planning
  • assists in managing department controllable expenses
  • manages merchandise inventory and enhances merchandise displays
  • creates an atmosphere that meets or exceeds guest expectations
  • sets a positive example for guest relations
  • interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
  • responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
  • empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
  • verifies employees understand expectations and parameters
