The Spa Assistant Manager role at this Four Seasons location is a key leadership position within the Spa Department. This role supports strategic and operational management decisions regarding spa treatments and philosophies, helping to ensure that the spa delivers top-tier wellness services aligned with Four Seasons’ luxury brand standards. The Spa Assistant Manager oversees a diverse team including Therapists, Estheticians, Attendants, and Receptionists, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, high-quality service delivery, and consistent adherence to wellness philosophies.

Responsibilities include managing all spa and salon areas such as the front desk, fitness facilities, locker rooms, relaxation lounges, treatment rooms, and retail sections. The role involves recruiting, supervising, evaluating, and fostering positive morale among the spa staff. A critical part of the position is overseeing product inventory management, cost control, and ensuring the cleanliness and operational standards of all equipment and spa areas. Collaboration with other departments such as Housekeeping, Laundry, and Engineering is necessary to maintain seamless operations.

This position is also involved in integrating spa operations with wider hotel activities, staying abreast of current spa trends, and participating in staff meetings to promote sales and service improvements. The Spa Assistant Manager is expected to manage retail purchase orders, inventory control, group bookings, and conduct spa tours for meeting planners, enhancing the department's visibility and fostering business growth.

Ideal candidates must possess excellent communication skills, a deep knowledge of spa and wellness treatments, proficiency with spa computer systems, and a college degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management or Business Administration is preferred. A minimum of five years’ experience in a luxury spa or related field is required, with previous retail spa experience considered an advantage.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum five years experience in a luxury spa or related field
  • Ability to operate spa computer systems
  • Knowledge of spa, wellness and treatments
  • Strong English reading, writing and oral proficiency
  • Ability to manage and supervise spa staff
  • Flexibility to work open and flexible hours
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders

Job Qualifications

  • College degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management or Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum five years experience in luxury spa or related field
  • Previous experience with spa retail preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Superior knowledge of spa, wellness and treatments
  • Ability to operate spa computer systems
  • Knowledge of treatments offered by Massage Therapists, Estheticians and Nail Technicians
  • Strong communication skills with customers, vendors, employees and co-workers

Job Duties

  • Manage and oversee all Spa/Salon areas including front desk, fitness facilities, locker room, relaxation lounge, treatment rooms and retail
  • Interview and select job applicants, supervise, discipline, and evaluate performance
  • Foster positive employee morale
  • Administer goods, requisitions, inventories, storage, and usage of department products according to standards and budget
  • Oversee operation of equipment and cleanliness in all spa areas and coordinate with Housekeeping, Laundry, and Engineering
  • Integrate Spa with Hotel operations and spa trends
  • Participate in staff meetings to keep employees informed and increase sales and service
  • Create retail purchase orders and facilitate inventory
  • Coordinate group bookings and conduct on-site tours
  • Assist all Spa and Salon departments with internal standards testing
