The role of Spa Assistant Manager at this prestigious Four Seasons property is pivotal to the success of the Spa Department. The Spa Assistant Manager oversees multiple departments including therapists, estheticians, attendants, and reception staff, guiding them to deliver superior guest experiences. Responsibilities extend to managing all spa and salon areas such as front desk, fitness facilities, locker rooms, relaxation lounges, treatment rooms, and retail spaces. This position requires collaboration across departments to maintain impeccable cleanliness, operational efficiency, and exceptional service. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in recruitment, employee development, inventory control, and financial oversight to maintain budgetary compliance and smooth operations.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Superior knowledge of spa, wellness and treatments
  • Ability to operate Spa computer systems
  • Knowledge of treatments offered by Massage Therapists, Estheticians and Nail Techs
  • Strong communication skills between customers, vendors, employees and co-workers
  • College degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management or Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum of five years experience in luxury Spa or related field
  • Previous experience with Spa retail preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage and oversee all Spa/Salon areas including front desk, fitness facilities, locker room, relaxation lounge, treatment rooms and retail
  • Interview and select job applicants as well as effectively supervise, discipline, and give performance evaluations for spa employees
  • Foster positive employee morale
  • Responsible for the administration of goods, requisitions, inventories, storage, and cost-effective usage of all department related products according to standards and budget
  • Oversee the operation of equipment and cleanliness in all spa areas and coordinate special requirements with Housekeeping, Laundry, and Engineering
  • Effectively integrate the Spa with the Hotel operations wherever possible and in accordance with the direction of Spa trends
  • Participate in regular staff meetings to keep employees informed of hotel policies and changes, as well as ways to increase sales and service
  • Create retail purchase orders in accordance with pars and budget
  • Organize and facilitate monthly and quarterly retail inventory
  • Coordinate group bookings and conduct on-site tours of the Spa with key meeting planners
  • Assist all Spa and Salon departments with internal standards testing
