Marriott International is a globally recognized hospitality company known for its commitment to excellence, diversity, and providing premier guest experiences across a variety of brands and locations. Within this expansive portfolio, Gaylord Hotels stand out as a distinctive brand rooted in expertise and leadership in delivering exceptional meetings and unique guest experiences. The Gaylord brand prides itself on fostering creativity, entrepreneurship, and heartfelt service among its associates, known as STARs. These employees are encouraged to bring thoughtful, big-hearted service to every guest interaction while enjoying a workplace that offers endless career growth opportunities beyond traditional hotel roles. Joining Gaylord Hotels means becoming part of Marriott International's global team, where you can excel in your career, find a sense of purpose, feel a sense of belonging, and unlock your full potential.

The role under consideration is a management position within the culinary team, emphasizing the successful daily operation of the kitchen. This position plays a crucial role in leading kitchen staff while personally assisting in all facets of culinary operations, including food production, purchasing, and maintaining high standards of kitchen sanitation. The job requires a balance of administrative skills, team leadership, and hands-on culinary expertise to ensure both guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget.

The manager will be responsible for developing and designing new culinary applications, maintaining food handling and sanitation standards, and ensuring that all employees have the proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms necessary to perform their duties efficiently. A key aspect of the job is overseeing the production and preparation of culinary items, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation are upheld, and coordinating with other departments such as Restaurant and Banquets to achieve seamless service and meal timing. Leading by example, this role entails performing culinary duties during periods of high demand and contributing to the creation of new menus, concepts, promotions, and decorative food presentations. Quality control on both raw and cooked foods is integral, as is mentoring kitchen employees, conducting performance appraisals, and fostering team development.

This position requires someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing, encouraging, and leading others while advocating for sound financial and business decision-making. The manager will handle employee questions, coach staff to improve knowledge and skills, and manage staffing levels to meet operational and financial goals. Inventory and supply management aligned with budget constraints are also part of the responsibilities.

Beyond culinary duties, the role focuses on ensuring exceptional customer service, managing day-to-day kitchen operations with an eye toward quality, guest satisfaction, and continuous improvement. The manager must handle guest complaints professionally and empower employees to provide excellent customer service within established guidelines.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining open communication with supervisors and team members, serving as a role model for professional conduct, analyzing results to solve problems, adhering to loss prevention policies, and participating actively in meetings. The position demands fostering mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members, embodying Marriott International's dedication to an inclusive, diverse workplace where every associate's unique background is valued and celebrated.

Employment with Marriott International offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support associates and their families, enhance wellbeing, empower career growth, and encourage new experiences. Benefit eligibility varies based on employment status, position, and location, reflecting Marriott's commitment to providing meaningful support tailored to its employees.

If you're passionate about culinary excellence, leadership, and being part of a dynamic, inclusive team environment, this role at Gaylord Hotels offers an exciting opportunity to grow your career in a respected global hospitality company while making a tangible impact on guest satisfaction and team success.
