Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 5 years culinary or food and beverage experience
  • or 2-year degree in Culinary Arts or related field
  • at least 3 years relevant professional experience
  • strong leadership skills
  • excellent communication abilities
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of sanitation standards
  • capability to manage inventory and supplies
  • willingness to work full time and in person at Dearborn, Michigan
  • eligibility to work legally in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 5 years experience in culinary or food and beverage industry
  • or 2-year degree in Culinary Arts or related field with 3 years relevant experience
  • strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • experience in managing kitchen operations
  • knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
  • ability to develop new menu concepts and food presentations

Job Duties

  • Develops, designs, or creates new culinary applications, ideas, or products
  • maintains food handling and sanitation standards
  • ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms
  • oversees production and preparation of culinary items
  • ensures employees keep their work areas clean and sanitary
  • works with Restaurant and Banquet departments to coordinate service and timing of events and meals
  • leads and coordinates culinary team activities during shifts
  • handles employee questions and concerns
  • conducts employee performance appraisals and provides feedback
  • identifies and coaches developmental needs of staff
  • monitors staffing levels and manages food and supply inventories
  • places orders for supplies according to budget
  • participates in department meetings to communicate goals
  • provides exceptional customer service and manages day-to-day kitchen operations
  • handles guest problems and complaints
  • enforces loss prevention policies and reports equipment malfunctions
  • encourages mutual trust and cooperation among team members
