Job Description
Dexterra Group is a reputable company with a rich history of over 75 years in supporting the infrastructure and built assets essential to society. Originating from several independent companies that united to form Dexterra Group, this organization stands out for its exceptional commitment to helping clients achieve greater performance and productivity. Dexterra's strength lies in its passionate team of professionals who bring an unparalleled blend of experience and regional expertise, enabling clients to conduct their day-to-day operations confidently and successfully. The group's stewardship spans across multiple sectors, underscoring its vital role in sustaining and enhancing key infrastructures for a broad spectrum of clients.
The current opportunity is for an Assistant Site Manager position based at Dexterra's world-class workforce accommodations facility. This role is integral to overseeing the overall operations, direction, and growth of a swiftly expanding construction operation involving workforce accommodations. Initially featuring approximately 500 rooms, the facility is poised to increase its capacity significantly to more than 4,000 rooms, reflecting an ambitious scale-up plan. This position requires a senior leader with robust experience managing large and complex hospitality or accommodation environments, underscoring the need for a candidate who excels in both strategic leadership and hands-on management. The Assistant Site Manager's responsibilities encompass several key service areas, including facilities maintenance, dining and food services, cleaning and housekeeping, and laundry services. This role demands the capability to assemble, lead, and inspire a high-performing, customer-focused team while upholding Dexterra's high standards for operational excellence.
Prioritizing safety is paramount, as this is a safety-sensitive role requiring compliance with drug, alcohol, and fit-to-work testing as a precondition for employment. The Assistant Site Manager will be entrusted with the full spectrum of daily site operations and long-term performance oversight, ensuring every facet operates seamlessly to deliver superior client and guest satisfaction. The incumbent will maintain and enforce Dexterra's stringent standards related to food quality, service consistency, cleanliness, and health and safety programs. Collaborating closely with Human Resources, the manager will lead hiring initiatives, onboarding, and performance management to build a resilient staff aligned with client expectations and operational demands. Financial stewardship is another critical aspect of the role, with responsibilities including revenue forecasting, budget development, and rigorous cost control to ensure profitability. The successful candidate will develop and manage staffing plans and schedules that reflect the client forecasts and operational fluctuations, while taking accountability as the primary liaison for client relationships and operational outcomes. Overall, this role presents a unique leadership challenge within a dynamic and fast-growing environment, offering a pivotal opportunity to shape the future success of a major workforce accommodation project.
