This role is an entry-level management position within the Rooms Operations department at JW Marriott Chicago. The position focuses on supporting daily operational activities related to Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff management, AYS, Concierge, and Guest Services. The primary goal of the role is to assist in overseeing guest arrival and departure procedures and maintaining the highest cleanliness standards throughout the property. This full-time management role, located onsite (not remote), offers an hourly pay rate between $28.35 and $31.25, including eligibility for bonuses. The candidate will play a key part in fostering both guest and employee satisfaction while helping the property meet its operating budget. The successful candidate will assist in managing front desk operations, scheduling, performance management, and departmental communications.
Key responsibilities include opening and closing frontline shifts, reviewing critical room operations reports, supervising employee job performance and payroll, facilitating guest services and feedback management, and participating in budget management activities to maximize property revenue and control costs. The role requires understanding various operational functions from housekeeping to guest relations and requires comprehensive knowledge of night audit and loss prevention procedures. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- three years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
- or two-year degree from accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
- one year experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
- ability to operate department equipment
- knowledge of night audit procedures
- understanding of loss prevention policies
- effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Open and close front desk and housekeeping shifts ensuring completion of assigned checklists and duties
- run and review critical room operations reports
- understand and support functions of recreation, laundry, housekeeping, bell staff, AYS, front desk, and concierge/guest services operations
- operate department equipment and report malfunctions
- ensure employees have proper supplies and uniforms
- understand night audit procedures and utilize reports as necessary
- comply with loss prevention policies and procedures
- communicate performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions
- handle employee questions and concerns
- effectively schedule employees and track time and attendance
- supervise same-day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and occupancy
- verify accuracy of room rates
- use budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to manage room operations
- participate in managing departmental controllable expenses
- understand the impact of room operations on property financial goals
- assist in investigating employee and guest accidents
- assist in guest information tracking to support repeat guest recognition
- set a positive example for guest relations
