This job opening is a full-time management position within the Rooms and Guest Services Operations category at the Newport Beach Marriott Bayview. The role commands a salary ranging from $28.85 to $35.58 per hour, with eligibility for performance bonuses, indicating the company’s commitment to rewarding outstanding contributions. This dynamic management generalist position is pivotal in supporting various operational departments across the hotel, including Front Desk services such as Bell/Door staff, Switchboard, and Concierge/Guest Services, as well as Rooms operations like Housekeeping, Recreation, and Laundry. Furthermore, the role extends to the Food and Beverage division, supporting outlets like Restaurants, Bars/Lounges, and Room Service, alongside managing Event Operations encompassing Banquets, Event Services, and Event Technology.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of brand standards and operational requirements across all these discipline areas. Acting as a coordinator for labor scheduling, the individual leads shifts by directing employees and ensuring that guest arrival and departure procedures run smoothly. They also support food and beverage operations during peak times and lead the preparation and execution of meetings and events according to detailed requirements and standards. Quality control responsibilities include completing guest room inspections and providing constructive feedback to staff across front desk and food and beverage services. They hold the Event Operations teams accountable to guest expectations, ensuring event execution adheres strictly to the established standards.

The role also requires the individual to uphold compliance with brand standards and legal obligations, emphasizing safety and regulatory adherence. Leading daily stand-up and pre-shift meetings, the manager sets performance expectations and trains staff on processes to maintain a high level of service consistency. Administrative and financial responsibilities involve assisting senior management with budgeting, payroll, and departmental reporting to drive financial performance and operational efficiency. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or related 2-year degree
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant hospitality experience or 3 years in two areas of hospitality such as food and beverage, guest services, front desk, or housekeeping
  • Ability to lead and supervise multiple operational departments
  • Proficient in managing labor schedules and operational workflows
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work full-time and on varied shifts
  • Eligibility to work legally in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • Minimum 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related hospitality areas
  • Experience running a shift and scheduling staff
  • Proficient in performance management and problem solving
  • Strong hospitality skills
  • Ability to lead teams and motivate staff
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and hospitality industry standards

Job Duties

  • Leads daily front desk, housekeeping, or guest services shift operations
