The role of Manager at Cubanitas is a unique opportunity that combines leadership with hands-on involvement. The Manager will oversee both the front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) operations, ensuring smooth coordination and communication between all team members. This position is classified primarily as part-time but can be expanded to full-time depending on candidate availability and business needs. Importantly, the Manager must be an experienced restaurant operator ready to step into a fast-paced, high-demand environment where multitasking and problem-solving are essential daily activities.
In addition to managing staff and operational flow, the Manager is expected to directly contribute as a bartender, with eligibility to make tips. This active engagement helps strengthen team cohesion and allows for a more hands-on leadership style. The Manager’s responsibilities include conducting pre-shift meetings, streamlining processes, managing labor and goods costs, and enforcing company policies alongside local laws and regulations. Maintaining top-notch cleanliness and quality standards is critical, reflecting Cubanitas’ commitment to excellence.
Ideal candidates bring at least two years of experience in full-service dining, encompassing culinary knowledge, safety and sanitation mastery, human resources management, and facility maintenance. Strong leadership skills and a passion for the business are essential, alongside professional appearance and demeanor. Technical competencies include bartending licensure, Serve Safe certification for food safety, Basset certification or equivalent alcohol management training, and computer literacy. Familiarity with social media for monitoring guest reviews and promoting the Cubanitas brand is highly valued. Bilingual candidates (Spanish-speaking) possess an added advantage, and candidates must have reliable transportation to work across both Cubanitas locations.
