In line with this exciting relaunch, the Waldorf Astoria New York is seeking a Restaurant General Manager to lead one of its premier dining venues, Peacock Alley. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of an iconic brand with a fresh, modern expression of its storied legacy. Peacock Alley, named after the famous passageway in the original Waldorf Astoria, has been reimagined as a sophisticated, versatile dining space offering bespoke menus from breakfast through dinner and a curated selection of cocktails inspired by the world’s greatest bars.
As Restaurant General Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations at Peacock Alley, reporting directly to the Restaurant General Manager and Assistant General Manager. You will work alongside three Assistant Restaurant Managers and a dynamic team of 30 Front of House employees to ensure exceptional service and operational excellence. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining high standards for guest satisfaction, food and beverage quality, financial performance, and team development.
This role is designed for a seasoned hospitality professional with a passion for luxury service, experience in managing upscale dining outlets, and a commitment to inspiring a team to deliver outstanding guest experiences. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the dining culture at the Waldorf Astoria while upholding the hotel’s core values of hospitality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, and a focus on the present moment.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in restaurant or food and beverage management
- Proven track record of managing upscale dining venues
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management within luxury or upscale hospitality environments
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance

Job Duties
- Oversee daily operations including guest service standards, product quality, inventory, cost controls, profitability, marketing, budgeting, and policy enforcement
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to monitor and enhance guest experiences, address feedback, and implement service improvements
- Supervise, coach, and mentor front of house team members, assist with performance evaluations and professional development
- Support revenue initiatives by implementing marketing strategies, up-selling techniques, and promotions to increase sales
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations
- Ensure the highest standards of guest and team member wellbeing
- Work closely with the leadership team to uphold the brand’s legacy and service excellence
