Job Description
Taste of Belgium is a celebrated modern Belgian brasserie located in Cincinnati, Ohio, renowned for its commitment to from-scratch cooking, authentic Liège waffles, an extensive selection of Belgian beers, and a reputation for warm and genuine hospitality. For nearly two decades, it has been a favorite dining destination offering everything from its famous weekend brunch to a dynamic dinner service that highlights Belgian comfort food along with the city’s best mussels selection. The restaurant’s dedication to quality and culture has established it as one of the most beloved culinary landmarks in the region. Taste of Belgium prides itself on creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere where guests can immerse themselves in an authentic Belgian dining experience.
The role of Assistant Restaurant Manager at Taste of Belgium is a pivotal position of leadership focused on the front of house (FOH) and bar operations. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality, craft beer, and food service who seek to develop their management skills in a vibrant, high-volume restaurant environment. The Assistant Manager will work closely alongside a collaborative and supportive leadership team, including the engaged owner and general manager, ensuring a culture where innovation is welcomed, and every team member’s voice is valued. This role offers meaningful ownership and direct influence over daily operations, enabling candidates to sharpen their leadership capabilities while actively contributing to the restaurant’s ongoing success.
The position involves leading shifts, coaching team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences, and overseeing the dynamic service operation across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and the celebrated weekend brunch service. The Assistant Manager is responsible for maintaining strong operational standards, managing labor and scheduling effectively, and supporting the bar program featuring beloved Belgian classics, local beers, and craft cocktails. This position requires the ability to thrive during busy and quieter periods—driving the floor with leadership during high-energy times while utilizing slower moments to develop the team and improve operational efficiencies.
Working at Taste of Belgium offers a balanced environment where hands-on leadership, accountability, and teamwork are paramount. Here, managers are empowered to lead from the floor in a culture that emphasizes pride in the work and follow-through. The restaurant values humility, eagerness to learn, and emotional intelligence in its leaders, looking for individuals motivated to grow and passionately skilled at fostering lasting relationships with guests and their teams. This role provides the opportunity to learn and contribute across both front and back of house operations, reflecting the restaurant’s holistic approach to hospitality management.
Compensation for the Assistant Restaurant Manager position ranges from $52,000 to $57,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Candidates can expect a typical work schedule of approximately 45 to 50 hours per week. The role also comes with benefits including two weeks of paid time off after 90 days, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, and short-term and long-term disability insurance.
This is a unique chance to join a highly regarded restaurant with a longstanding reputation for excellence and to grow your career in a supportive, team-oriented environment that is deeply invested in each employee’s success. If you are a hospitality professional who thrives in fast-paced settings and seeks a career path that combines leadership, passion for food and drink, and genuine guest engagement, the Assistant Restaurant Manager role at Taste of Belgium is an exceptional opportunity to make a lasting impact.
