The role of Panda Express Assistant Manager at the Salt Lake City Airport (SLC) is a unique and exciting opportunity for experienced retail or restaurant professionals who thrive in fast-paced, high-volume settings and aspire to leadership. This position offers an annual salary range of $58,000 to $60,000 with potential for a quarterly bonus and a year-end super bonus, backed by a comprehensive benefits package. The Assistant Manager will after hire attend a paid 6-week training course at a Panda Express street-side location to fully immerse in brand standards and operational procedures.
As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for managing all retail and customer service activities within the Panda Express location while leading, training, and developing a team of retail travel experts. Your leadership will focus on achieving high-performance goals through setting daily assignments and ensuring excellence in guest service and brand consistency. Operational tasks include managing funds, media, receiving inventory, scheduling, payroll, and maintaining merchandising and display standards. You will participate in forecasting and budgeting efforts based on sales analytics, helping drive operational success and customer satisfaction.
This position requires strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members, executives, union representatives, and customers. You will often resolve routine issues onsite and escalate complex concerns as needed, ensuring smooth daily operations. Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications is critical to managing reporting and other technology tasks. Job Requirements
- Must be able to attend a paid 6-week training course with Panda Express
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of management or supervisory experience in restaurant or retail
- Proficient in MS Office and Point-of-Sale systems
- Ability to prioritize and organize daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact at all organizational levels
- Previous experience resolving conflicts in customer service environments
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or equivalent coursework preferred
- Two or more years of experience in a restaurant management or supervisory role
- Proficient computer literacy including MS Office and POS systems
- Effective organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to resolve conflicts with clients, customers, and team members
