The Assistant Manager role at CEC Entertainment is an excellent opportunity for individuals ready to elevate their management career within a vibrant and beloved family entertainment leader. Assistant Managers play a crucial role in leading a dedicated team to ensure every guest leaves happy. This high-energy, high-reward position requires hands-on leadership in managing daily operations, including time management, staff scheduling, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding product and guest service standards.
Beyond operational responsibilities, Assistant Managers are integral in building sales and maximizing profits by effectively recruiting, training, and motivating their teams to meet and exceed company and guest expectations. They coach staff to deliver exceptional guest service while ensuring the environment remains safe and welcoming. A key part of the position involves understanding and managing cost control procedures, inventory, financials, and labor management.
Assistant Managers are assigned an Area of Impact (AOI) and rotate through four core areas: Kitchen, Sales, Showroom, and Gameroom. In the Kitchen, they oversee food safety, scheduling, product ordering, and preparing menu items like pizza dough from scratch. Sales responsibilities encompass supervising the Cashier, Salad Bar, and Gift Shop areas, including sales results, inventory management, and quality assurance. The Showroom role involves leading birthday party execution and optimizing guest satisfaction and venue seating. In the Gameroom, the Assistant Manager partners with the Technical Manager to maintain equipment functionality, analyze game play data, and ensure cleanliness.
CEC Entertainment values skills such as coaching and developing others, effective communication, composure, resourcefulness, ethics and integrity, and strong time and priority management. The company offers commission-based earnings with detailed commission structures for exempt and non-exempt positions, paid bi-weekly. This role requires a minimum of one year of management experience in a food service setting or six months as an Opening Coordinator, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work 40 hours per week. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks requiring standing, bending, squatting, and exposure to various environmental conditions.
At CEC Entertainment, employees benefit from a comprehensive package including telemedicine, early wage access, 401(k) plans, meal discounts, tuition savings, scholarships, and financial assistance. Full-time employees are eligible for extensive medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and additional benefits. The company fosters a safe, inclusive work environment, committed to equal opportunity and supporting individuals with disabilities through reasonable accommodations. Working at Chuck E. Cheese means joining a company that truly values diversity, innovation, and a culture where family fun is at the heart of everything they do.
