The Assistant Manager role at CEC Entertainment provides a high-energy, rewarding opportunity to advance a management career within the family entertainment industry leader. Reporting into the leadership team of a vibrant venue, the Assistant Manager works closely with a dynamic team to create exceptional guest experiences, ensuring that "every guest leaves happy." This position involves making key daily operational decisions including staff scheduling, cleanliness, and upholding product and service standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role is designed for individuals with strong leadership skills who can inspire and develop a team committed to delivering outstanding guest service in a safe, clean, and well-managed environment. Assistant Managers take ownership of an Area of Impact (AOI) where they rotate through critical operations departments such as the kitchen, sales, showroom, and gameroom. Responsibilities include managing food safety, inventory control, scheduling, profitability, birthday party planning, technical maintenance collaboration, and guest satisfaction maximization.

CEC Entertainment provides commission structures based on memberships and Fun Pass sales, with potential earnings depending on position exemption status. Commissions are paid bi-weekly and offer incentives for exceptional sales performance.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 21 years of age (with some regional flexibility), and have at least one year of people management experience, preferably in the food service industry, or six months experience as an Opening Coordinator.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week
  • Must have a high-school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older with possible regional exceptions
  • Minimum one year of experience managing people, preferably in food service or six months as Opening Coordinator
  • Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing 0-50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk and squat during shift
  • Able to work in environment with flashing lights, mechanical parts, loud noise, and exposure to wet, humid, heat and cold conditions

Job Duties

  • Make daily decisions involving time management, staff scheduling, cleanliness, and upholding product and guest service standards
  • Build sales and maximize profits by recruiting, training, developing and motivating team to meet expectations
  • Coach and inspire team to deliver outstanding guest service and ensure safe, clean, and well-run environment
  • Understand and manage cost control procedures, inventory, financials, and labor
  • Take ownership of an Area of Impact in kitchen, sales, showroom, or gameroom and complete rotation in each
  • Manage kitchen operations including food safety, ordering, scheduling, pizza dough preparation, and cooking
  • Oversee sales including cashier, salad bar, gift shop, sales results, inventory, ordering, execution, quality assurance, and profitability
  • Lead birthday party execution and planning to maximize bookings and guest satisfaction
  • Partner with Technical Manager in gameroom for equipment maintenance and analyze play data
