The Assistant Manager role at CEC Entertainment offers a high-energy, rewarding opportunity to advance your management career within this beloved family entertainment setting. As an Assistant Manager, you will support the leadership of a dedicated team focused on ensuring every guest leaves happy. This role involves making critical daily decisions related to time management, staff scheduling, cleanliness, and maintaining product and guest service standards.

You will play a crucial role in building sales and maximizing profits by recruiting, training, developing, and motivating your team to meet both company and guest expectations. Coaching the team to deliver outstanding guest service and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-run environment will be key responsibilities. The position requires an understanding of cost control procedures, inventory management, financial oversight, and labor management.

A unique aspect of this role is ownership of an Area of Impact (AOI), rotating through key operational areas including the Kitchen, Sales, Showroom, and Gameroom. In the Kitchen, you will manage inventory, food safety, scheduling, and oversee the preparation and cooking of menu items. The Sales area includes supervising the Cashier, Salad Bar, and Gift Shop, with a focus on sales performance, inventory, and profitability. The Showroom responsibilities involve planning and executing birthday parties to maximize bookings and guest satisfaction. The Gameroom area requires partnering with the Technical Manager to maintain games and equipment, analyzing gameplay data, and ensuring cleanliness.

This position offers a compensation range of $17.49 to $19.44 per hour, with a commission structure for membership and Fun Pass sales, varying by exempt or non-exempt status. Compensation is paid bi-weekly, subject to state laws. The role demands strong leadership skills such as coaching and developing others, effective communication, composure, resourcefulness, ethics, integrity, and excellent time and priority management.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week
  • Must have a high-school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older (RVP approval may allow hiring at local legal age for alcohol-related duties)
  • Minimum one year managing people or six months experience as an Opening Coordinator
  • Ability to lift or carry objects weighing 0-50 pounds during shifts
  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk and squat during shifts
  • Exposure to flashing and flickering lights, moving mechanical parts, loud noise, and varying temperature and humidity conditions

Job Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year of experience managing people preferably in the food service industry or six months as an Opening Coordinator

Job Duties

  • Make daily decisions involving time management, staff scheduling, cleanliness, and upholding product and guest service standards
