Employees at Sweetgreen are part of a vibrant team that lives the company’s core values and embraces diversity and inclusion, making it a great place for personal and professional growth. The company provides equal employment opportunities regardless of sex, gender identity, race, age, disability status, or any legally protected category, and participates in the federal E-Verify program to ensure employment eligibility. Employees also benefit from a comprehensive commitment to privacy and respect, with tailored support for new parents, wellness, and professional development.
The role of Assistant Coach, also known as Assistant General Manager, is a hands-on leadership position within the Sweetgreen team. This role supports operational excellence by leading, strategizing, and mentoring store team members to create exceptional guest experiences and sustainable growth. Assistant Coaches are responsible for managing daily store operations, inspiring and developing team members into future leaders, and partnering closely with the Head Coach to meet business goals. They uphold the company’s SWEET standards and champion a positive culture of trust and recognition.
In this role, you will be thoroughly involved in all aspects of store operations, from hiring and onboarding team members to overseeing food safety compliance and facility maintenance. You will lead by example during peak shifts, provide coaching, and make operational decisions that influence sales growth and operational efficiency. The position requires a candidate who is organized, reliable, and able to multitask effectively, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. Working a minimum of 30 hours per week, you will have the chance to develop yourself and others while making a real impact in your store and community.
