Sweetgreen prides itself on its mission to promote sustainability, organic products, and responsible sourcing while fostering an inclusive, collaborative workplace culture. This commitment extends not only to the quality of the food served but also to developing their people across restaurants and support centers, enabling career growth and personal development. Sweetgreen operates in a competitive, fast-paced industry where the emphasis on operational excellence, community engagement, and guest experience differentiates it from traditional fast food establishments.
As an Assistant Coach (Assistant General Manager) at Sweetgreen, you will play a pivotal leadership role supporting your store in executing strategies that align with the company’s mission of building healthier communities through real food. This position requires a hands-on leader who mentors team members, drives operational excellence, and uses data-driven insights to surpass performance goals. You will work closely with the Head Coach to set goals, manage team deployment, ensure food safety and quality, and provide exceptional guest experiences that align with Sweetgreen's brand standards. You will also be responsible for upholding food safety and cleanliness standards, handling equipment maintenance, and ensuring the quality of food served to guests.
The position is designed for individuals with prior restaurant management or supervisory experience, particularly in fast casual dining or similar environments. Familiarity with local, organic, and sustainable products and technology tools used for scheduling and operations is highly valued. Strong leadership qualities, including problem-solving skills, confident decision-making under pressure, and excellent communication, are essential to succeed in this dynamic role. The Assistant Coach career path encompasses responsibilities from various roles such as Shift Leader, Kitchen Lead, and Team Member, emphasizing comprehensive operational knowledge and team collaboration.
Sweetgreen offers a competitive base salary with bonus potential, along with comprehensive benefits like medical, dental, and vision insurance plans tailored to employees and their families. Employees enjoy paid vacation, wellness time, paid family leave supporting new parents, participation in a 401(k) program, complimentary greens, and branded swag.
