Job Description
CEC Entertainment, LLC, headquartered in Irving, Texas, is a nationally recognized leader in family dining and entertainment. The company proudly operates the iconic Chuck E. Cheese, Peter Piper Pizza, and Chuck's Arcade brands. With nearly 600 Chuck E. Cheese locations and over 120 Peter Piper Pizza venues across 45 states and 18 countries, CEC Entertainment is a major player in the family entertainment industry. The company is known for its commitment to creating joyful, lasting memories for kids and families through fun, food, and play, with a strong emphasis on safety, community support, and diversity. Chuck E. Cheese celebrates over half a million birthdays annually and has donated more than $24 million to schools and nonprofits. In 2025, the brand received the "Best in STEM" award and was named one of America's Greatest Workplaces, underscoring its leadership in innovation and employee well-being.
The Assistant Manager position at CEC Entertainment offers a dynamic opportunity for individuals looking to advance their management careers at a beloved family entertainment leader. The role involves leading a motivated team to ensure that every guest leaves happy. It is a high-energy role that requires making daily decisions related to time management, staff scheduling, cleanliness, and maintaining product and guest service standards. The Assistant Manager is responsible for building sales and maximizing profits through effective recruitment, training, development, and motivation of team members to meet company and guest expectations.
Key responsibilities also include coaching and inspiring the team to deliver outstanding guest service, ensuring a safe and clean environment, understanding cost control procedures, inventory, financials, and labor management. The role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of an "Area of Impact" (AOI) in one of four areas—Kitchen, Sales, Showroom, or Gameroom—and over time, complete rotations in each. The Kitchen AOI involves managing product ordering, food safety, scheduling, cleanliness, and overseeing pizza dough preparation and cooking. The Sales AOI includes oversight of the Cashier, Salad Bar, and Gift Shop, monitoring sales results, managing inventory and profitability, and ensuring quality assurance. The Showroom AOI focuses on leading birthday party execution and planning, maximizing bookings, and guest satisfaction. The Gameroom AOI entails partnering with the Technical Manager to maintain games and equipment, analyzing gameplay data, and ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
CEC Entertainment values skills such as coaching, effective communication, composure, resourcefulness, ethics, integrity, and strong time and priority management. The role requires the ability to work 40 hours per week, a high school diploma or GED, and candidates must be at least 21 years old (with some flexibility depending on local laws). A minimum of one year of people management experience, preferably in the food service industry, or six months as an Opening Coordinator, is required. The job demands physical capabilities including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing/pulling, walking, and squatting, often in an environment with flashing lights, mechanical parts, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
CEC Entertainment offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees nationwide. This includes access to telemedicine, early wage access, a 401(k) retirement plan, employee meal discounts, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), tuition savings, scholarships, and financial relief resources. Part-time employees can enroll in fixed indemnity medical coverage, dental and vision options, and voluntary life and short-term disability benefits. Full-time employees receive comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid sick/vacation time, paid holidays, FSA/HSA options, life and disability insurance, voluntary benefits, legal coverage, and additional education and student loan support.
CEC Entertainment is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and creating a culture where all employees and guests feel valued and respected. The company’s policies ensure no discrimination based on race, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected classes. Joining CEC Entertainment means becoming part of an organization where careers are built around great food, family, and fun—where employees are empowered to make a positive impact every day.
