The Assistant Manager role at Peter Piper Pizza plays a critical part in delivering the company's high operational standards. This full-time position is designed for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, team leadership, and maintaining an excellent guest experience. Assistant Managers are key contributors in ensuring that every guest receives outstanding hospitality, enjoys quality menu items, and experiences a clean and safe environment. They are responsible for coaching and developing team members, Certified Trainers, Team Leads, Key Holders, and Shift Supervisors to build a strong, motivated workforce.

This role includes managing daily operations by making decisions related to time management, staff scheduling, and maintaining product quality and cleanliness. Assistant Managers also focus on driving sales and maximizing profits by recruiting, training, and communicating company and guest expectations to all team members. Providing coaching, teaching, and motivation, they help maintain high standards of guest service and safety while understanding cost control procedures, financial accounting, inventory management, and labor control.

The role requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, along with at least one year of people management experience, preferably in food service, or six months as a Shift Supervisor. Assistant Managers must be at least 21 years old or meet the legal age requirements for handling alcohol in their location. The position involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, and squatting during shifts. The work environment may include flashing lights, moving mechanical parts, loud noise, and exposure to wet, humid, extreme heat, or extreme cold conditions.

Job Requirements

  • Must have a high-school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older (COO approval may allow for hiring at the age permitted by local law for selling, ringing up, checking identification and serving alcohol)
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience managing people, preferably in the food service industry OR experience as a Shift Supervisor for at least six (6) months
  • Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing 0-50 pounds during scheduled shift
  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk and squat during scheduled shift
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment with flashing lights and moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to comply with health and safety standards
