Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related area
  • or 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • 1 year experience in food and beverage or related area
  • ability to supervise and manage staff
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • knowledge of alcohol service compliance
  • ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  • flexibility to work peak meal periods
  • commitment to maintaining operational budgets

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related area
  • or 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 1 year experience in food and beverage or related area

Job Duties

  • handle employee questions and concerns
  • monitor employees to ensure performance expectations are met
  • provide feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors
  • assist in supervising daily shift operations
  • supervise restaurant and related areas in absence of Director or Manager
  • participate in department meetings to communicate goals
  • ensure employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms
  • communicate food quality and service issues to Chef and Manager
  • ensure compliance with restaurant policies, standards, and procedures
  • monitor alcohol beverage service compliance
  • assist in achieving or exceeding budgeted goals
  • perform duties of restaurant employees as necessary
  • open and close restaurant shifts
  • interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
  • supervise staffing to meet guest service and operational needs
  • encourage employees to provide excellent customer service
  • handle guest problems and complaints
  • strive to improve service performance
  • set positive example for guest relations
  • assist in reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction results
  • meet and greet guests
  • supervise ongoing training initiatives
  • use available training tools for employees
  • communicate performance expectations
  • coach and counsel employees on performance
