The Assistant Manager role at Chuck E. Cheese is a high-energy, high-reward leadership position designed for those looking to advance their management careers in the family entertainment industry. The Assistant Manager is responsible for making crucial daily decisions related to staff scheduling, time management, cleanliness, and guest service standards. In this role, Assistant Managers take on ownership of an Area of Impact (AOI) in diverse operational domains such as the kitchen, sales, showroom, or gameroom. They manage everything from product ordering, food safety, and pizza preparation to sales monitoring, inventory control, party planning, and equipment maintenance. Assistant Managers are tasked with recruiting, training, and motivating their teams to deliver exceptional service and maximize sales and profitability. They also work closely with the Technical Manager to ensure gaming equipment and the restaurant environment are maintained for optimal guest enjoyment.

The position demands strong coaching and communication skills, composure under pressure, resourcefulness, ethical conduct, and effective time and priority management. Candidates must be able to physically handle the demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. This dynamic role is ideal for candidates with at least one year of people management experience, preferably in food service, or experience as an Opening Coordinator for at least six months. The Assistant Manager position requires a high school diploma or GED and is open to candidates aged 21 or older, with some flexibility based on local legal requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older (RVP approval may allow hiring age as permitted by local law for selling, ringing up, checking ID and serving alcohol)
  • Minimum of one year of experience managing people, preferably in the food service industry or experience as an Opening Coordinator for at least six months
  • Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing 0-50 pounds during scheduled shift
  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk and squat during scheduled shift
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with flashing and flickering lights, moving mechanical parts, and loud noise, as well as exposure to non-weather-related wet, humid, extreme heat and extreme cold conditions

Job Duties

  • Make daily decisions that involve time management, staff scheduling, cleanliness and upholding product and guest service standards
  • Build sales and maximize profits by effectively recruiting, training, developing and motivating your team to meet company and guest expectations
  • Coach and inspire the team to deliver outstanding guest service and ensure a safe, clean, and run environment
  • Understand cost control procedures, inventory, financials, and labor management
  • Take ownership of an Area of Impact “AOI” in one of four areas and complete a rotation in each area over time: The Kitchen, Sales, Showroom, Gameroom
  • Manage product ordering, food safety, scheduling, and cleanliness in the kitchen
  • Oversee pizza dough preparation from scratch, cook pizza and other menu items
  • Monitor sales results, inventory, ordering, execution and profitability management of merchandise and salad bar
  • Lead birthday party execution and planning
  • Maximize party bookings and guest satisfaction while optimizing showroom seating
  • Partner with Technical Manager to keep games and equipment in top condition with minimal downtime
  • Analyze gameplay data and ticket payouts while keeping the gameroom clean and guest ready
