Job Description

This job opportunity is with an independently owned and operated Jack in the Box franchise located in Denton, TX. Unlike company-owned restaurants, this particular establishment is managed by an independent franchisee who holds full responsibility for all employment-related matters including hiring, firing, wages, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. This decentralization means that if you join this team, your employment relationship will be with the independent franchisee, offering a more localized, hands-on management style and potentially greater flexibility than a corporate-run outlet.

Jack in the Box is a well-known fast-food restaurant brand, celebrated for its commitment to delivering high-quality, quick-service meals and a positive dining experience. The franchise in Denton upholds this tradition and emphasizes a culture of respect, integrity, and teamwork, following the brand's core Service Profit Chain model and its promise of excellent service to both staff and customers.

The available position is that of an Assistant Manager, a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing restaurant operations either alongside or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all aspects of the restaurant's functioning meet Jack in the Box’s high standards of service, food quality, and cleanliness. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in recruiting, training, and developing team members, ensuring a motivated and competent staff that can deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will also be responsible for monitoring and managing staffing levels, implementing training systems, and fostering a work environment that is friendly, fun, clean, and safe.

A significant part of the job is ensuring excellent guest service and satisfaction by consistently delivering quality food and positive interactions with customers. You will be expected to actively engage with guests, handle concerns professionally and promptly, and uphold the brand's image through impeccable restaurant maintenance and food safety standards.

Financial acumen is equally important in this role. The Assistant Manager partners with the Restaurant Manager to analyze operational and financial performance metrics, including income and expenses, quality and service reports, and health inspections. Using this data, you will develop and implement strategies to increase sales, boost profitability, and maintain budget adherence, always considering cost-benefit impacts to protect the Jack in the Box brand.

To excel as an Assistant Manager, you must demonstrate strong leadership qualities including integrity, honesty, and the ability to foster a positive work culture. You should be able to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing environments, and make high-quality decisions independently. Effective interpersonal skills, organizational talents, and a drive to achieve results are essential. This role requires at least one year of experience in a similar leadership position within a customer service context or several years in assistant management with some profit and loss responsibility.

Overall, this position offers a rewarding and challenging opportunity for those passionate about foodservice management and eager to grow within a respected brand known for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The role demands a hands-on, energetic individual who thrives in dynamic environments and values teamwork and development. If you are looking to build a management career in the fast-food industry, this Assistant Manager position at the Denton Jack in the Box franchise could be an excellent fit.
