Job Description

Raising Cane's is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in chicken fingers with a strong dedication to quality, customer service, and community values. Known for its inviting atmosphere and consistent operational excellence, Raising Cane's has built a loyal customer base by maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and employee satisfaction. As a part of a growing industry, Raising Cane's offers employees the opportunity to work in a vibrant, fast-paced environment that values teamwork, efficiency, and positive customer interactions.

The Assistant Restaurant Leader role at Raising Cane's is a crucial position designed to support the Restaurant Leader in managing daily restaurant operations while upholding the brand's stringent standards and culture. This leadership position involves hands-on activity in a fast-moving kitchen environment requiring physical stamina, such as prolonged periods of standing, walking, lifting, and bending. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor elements, sometimes involving variable temperatures and interaction with food products, allergens, and industrial cleaning supplies, necessitating adherence to safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment.

In this role, the Assistant Restaurant Leader proactively manages hourly non-management crewmembers from hiring and termination to scheduling and payroll, ensuring that all team members are effectively onboarded and coached. Key responsibilities include directing shift operations by acting as the manager on duty, managing cash handling processes with accountability, and ensuring compliance with Raising Cane's policies and safety standards. The Assistant Leader is integral to maintaining a productive working environment by deploying crewmembers appropriately during shifts, conducting shift meetings, and utilizing operational tools for documentation and corrective action.

Beyond operational management, this role emphasizes exemplary customer service and fosters a positive workplace culture through reward and recognition programs. There is also responsibility for maintaining restaurant cleanliness and ensuring that all equipment and facilities are functioning properly. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic setting, and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Employees in this position benefit from a competitive hourly wage of $24 to $27, reflecting the importance of their leadership within the restaurant. The position demands flexibility, including the ability to work various shifts such as days, evenings, and weekends, along with some travel for training or work-related functions. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in restaurant or retail management who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment and are passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences while maintaining operational excellence.
