Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, the Assistant Restaurant Leader is physically active, often engaging in activities that require walking, standing, lifting, and bending, along with mingling with customers both inside and outside the restaurant, regardless of weather conditions or temperature variations. The role demands working closely with food products, handling allergens, and using industrial kitchen equipment and cleaning products safely. \n\nThe Assistant Restaurant Leader is entrusted with significant responsibilities such as managing the hiring and termination of hourly crewmembers, overseeing onboarding and payroll processes, creating employee work and training schedules, and managing staff performance through coaching, development, and constructive feedback. This role requires hands-on leadership, including acting as the manager on duty, opening and closing the restaurant, handling cash management with accountability, and enforcing compliance with Raising Cane's policies and standards. \n\nMoreover, the Assistant Restaurant Leader ensures the deployment of crewmembers during shifts to optimize efficiency and service quality while delivering excellent customer service. They also facilitate shift management meetings that align with operational and safety standards and use designated tools and documentation to support shift execution and corrective actions when necessary. Utilizing reward and recognition programs to motivate crewmembers and authorizing employee functions that require management approval are also key aspects of this role. Finally, maintaining the cleanliness and operational integrity of the restaurant facilities embodies the commitment to creating a welcoming and safe environment for both employees and patrons. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Able to work a variety of shifts including days evenings and weekends
- 3 plus years of restaurant or retail management experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required some college preferred
- Detail-oriented organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
- Self-driven flexible and highly energetic with strong analytical written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
- Able to recognize and analyze problems set goals create plans and convert plans into action to solve problems
- Proficient in a variety of technology systems including Microsoft Office Excel Word and Outlook and ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required some college preferred
- 3 plus years of restaurant or retail management experience
- New restaurant opening experience preferred
- Strong analytical written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel Word and Outlook
- Able to recognize and analyze problems set goals create plans and convert plans into action to solve problems
Job Duties
- Hire and terminate hourly non-management crewmembers
- Own onboarding status change and payroll process for all hourly crewmembers
- Create crewmember work and training schedules
- Manage performance of hourly crewmembers including development coaching redirective communication and documentation
- Act as manager on duty and open and close the restaurant
- Manage cash handling and ensure accountability
- Enforce Raising Cane's policies and standards
- Execute shift management meeting Raising Cane's operations and safety standards
- Use required tools forms and logs to support shift execution document results and take corrective action when needed
- Deploy crewmembers during a shift
- Provide exemplary customer service
- Utilize reward and recognition program for crewmembers
- Authorize employee functions requiring manager approval
- Ensure cleanliness of the restaurant and ensure the facility is in good working order
- Complete other duties as assigned
