Job Description
Raising Cane's is a renowned fast-food restaurant chain specializing in high-quality chicken finger meals, admired for its exceptional customer service and vibrant company culture. Founded with a commitment to delivering great food and a memorable dining experience, Raising Cane's has established itself as a leader in the quick-service restaurant industry with numerous locations across the country. The brand prides itself on maintaining a positive work environment, fostering growth, and upholding its standards of excellence in every aspect of its operations.
The Assistant Restaurant Leader at Raising Cane's plays a critical role in supporting the Restaurant Leader to ensure smooth day-to-day operations while upholding the company’s high standards and culture. This is a fast-paced and physically demanding role that involves managing various tasks within the restaurant, including working in the kitchen and interacting closely with customers. The successful candidate must be comfortable with physical activities such as walking, standing for extended periods, lifting, and bending, as well as working in variable indoor and outdoor conditions.
In this leadership role, the Assistant Restaurant Leader is responsible for hiring and terminating hourly, non-management crewmembers, overseeing their onboarding, payroll, and performance management. This includes creating work and training schedules, coaching, and evaluating team members to ensure a productive and positive work environment. Acting as the manager on duty, the Assistant Restaurant Leader opens and closes the restaurant, manages cash handling processes ensuring accountability, and enforces company policies and operational standards.
The role requires a hands-on approach to shift execution, including documenting results and taking corrective actions when necessary. The Assistant Restaurant Leader delegates tasks to crewmembers to optimize the shift flow and consistently delivers exemplary customer service, upholding Raising Cane's commitment to customer satisfaction. Additionally, this person is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant facilities and authorizing employee functions that need managerial approval, such as discounts and timeclock overrides.
To succeed in this role, the candidate must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, are essential. Candidates should be self-driven, flexible, and energetic, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Experience with restaurant or retail management is a must, ideally with over three years in a management position. Having experience in opening new restaurants is preferred, adding value to the operational expertise. The Assistant Restaurant Leader should be proficient in technology systems, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook, and be adaptable to learning new systems quickly.
This position requires availability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and the possibility of travel for work-related functions and training. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with some college education preferred, and a valid driver’s license is necessary. The position offers competitive pay, ranging from $24 to $27 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Perks of the role include monthly bonus potential, paid time off for eligible employees, and being closed on major holidays like New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, although this may vary by location. Employees also enjoy a free meal during their shifts, supporting the company’s commitment to employee well-being and satisfaction. This role represents a fantastic opportunity for those passionate about restaurant management and providing exceptional customer experiences within a supportive and forward-thinking company environment.
